The Government believes that the Early Years Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children who are growing up in economically disadvantaged circumstances.
The money is allocated to the school on a termly basis. It is for the school to decide how the additional funding is spent. However, schools will be held accountable for how they have used the additional funding to support pupils who qualify for the Early Years Pupil Premium.
At Comper Early Years Pupil Premium funds are spent with the following aims in mind:
- To close the attainment gap and accelerate progress
- To provide experiences that enhance and enrich children’s learning
