Inclusive Ethos

At Comper Foundation Stage School we recognise that all children have the right to access a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum, allowing progression and learning at a pace and level reflective of their individual abilities. We believe that all children have a right to develop their knowledge and understanding and have experiences alongside their peers, no matter what their individual needs; we are committed to the inclusion of all children. We use a variety of strategies, resources and interventions to ensure that we are able to meet the needs of all the children in out setting. Communication is at the heart of everything we do. To ensure this is inclusive we use Makaton signing wherever we can, visual supports and our practitioners are trained by other outside professionals, where necessary, to use other communication devices too.
