Caring for your child
We recognise that each child is individual and it is our aim to ensure that your child is happy and settled in our setting. We recommend that you come and have a look around our facility prior to making any bookings. We also require that you visit us on at least 2 separate occasions, with your child, to help them with the settling in period. Only after these 2 visits have been made may your child be left alone with us.
Your child will be assigned a ‘Key Person’ which ensures that they have a ‘special someone’ within the Lavender/Apple/Banana Room who will primarily care for them. However, all members of staff will be working to meet the emotional needs of your child. You will have the opportunity to discuss your child's development or any other issues with the key person at the beginning or end of each session. Your key person will maintain written records of observations made regarding your child which will assist with future planning. Parents are warmly invited to read the observations and discuss them as necessary with the key person.
We strive to provide a homely setting and will always try to accommodate the individual needs of your child. If your child still requires a nap in the afternoon then this can be accommodated.
Healthy snacks will be provided for the children mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Information can be found regarding this on our notice board.
How can I find out how my child is getting on?
It is important that you and our Child care team caring for your child work together. Try to speak to your child’s key person as often as possible about what your child has been doing, what they have enjoyed, what they need to be doing more of and what you can do at home.
We also provide parent consultations if you would like to discuss your child’s progress in depth.
